A reticulation system without a master valve is always under pressure. Ok so assuming you are running off the water mains you will need to run the mp wire to your master valve.
Sprinkler Controller
Reticulation master solenoid wiring diagram. Your controller sends a low voltage signal through wiring usually 5mm for residential reticulation systems to your solenoid valves which are normally in the. The master or pump port will send a signal activating the master solenoid if your system runs off the mains water supply or will activate your water bore pump via a low voltage relay. Refer to the diagram below when connecting your solenoid valves to the controller. In your control box there are terminals marked c for common m or p for masterpump and then there are the numbers for solenoids 1 6 etc. You will need one individual wire for each solenoid valve and one common wire to be shared by all the solenoid valves. Water main master valve optional solenoid valves.
There are 3 common wiring points for convenience any or all of them can be used. It doesnt matter which wire it connects to on the solenoid. Mike briley from access irrigation demonstrates how to wire a 24v irrigation solenoid valve into a mains powered irrigation watering controller using low voltage multi core cable. A mainline under pressure like this is much more likely to burst or have slow leaks which may not be discovered for a long time wasting water. 5 core irrigation cable. To begin wiring at the controller with the power off pull back the outer sheathing exposing the individual wires.
What this means is the main supply pipe which is usually pvc piping is under pressure the whole way to each solenoid. Your controller has either 6 or 12 zones depending on the model you have purchased. You may have noticed a trend you will always require at least one extra wire.
